Stories
Every adventure leaves a lasting memory, and the stories shared here are a reflection of that impact. These are the voices of children from St. Jude Children’s Hospital who have joined us for unforgettable hunts and fishing trips. Through their words, you’ll see not only the joy of the outdoors, but also the hope, courage, and resilience that shine through every experience.
This past spring I had such a great experience with Northcutt Outdoors. I thoroughly enjoyed the dinner and getting to speak to those that had gone out of their way to donate to St Jude Children’s Hospital. Also Mr. Flint was so generous and provided me with what can only be described as a ton of hunting gear for our hunt the following morning. As far as the turkey hunt, it could not have gone any better. We started the morning and heard gobbles almost as soon as we got set up. Then it was just a matter of patience and the Gobbler eventually made its way to us and I was able to put it down. Overall the whole experience was unforgettable and thank you so much to Mr Flint and Northcutt outdoors for making it possible!

Meeting Mr. Flint felt like reconnecting with an old friend. Our first fishing trip turned into something deeper than I expected. His respect for nature was evident and made everything feel more meaningful, reminding me that it’s not just going to fish or hunt, but about being present and appreciating the world around you.
Fishing with him wasn’t about the catch—it was about the peace of the water, the quiet where only you and God exist. He taught me that sometimes just being out there was enough, that the experience itself is what mattered.
Deer season 2024 for me, was different. I’d hunted before, but walking through the woods with Mr. Flint felt special. He made sure I was prepared, guiding me through every step. Even when we were surrounded with deer, he helped me stay focused and confident. By the time the shot came, I was ready, and I made it. That moment wasn’t just about the trophy—it symbolized perseverance and growth.
Thinking about my cancer journey, it feels similar to the outdoors. There were times I felt stuck, but I learned to be patient, still, and trust in God. You’re not always going to have good results, but that’s why you have to keep trying even if it seems like there’s no hope.
St. Jude has been a huge part of restoring that hope for me. They’ve provided exceptional care, covered all my bills, and gave my family a place to stay. I never had to worry about the financial burden. It wasn’t just about treatment, either. St. Jude created an environment of hope, where I felt seen, heard, and part of something bigger. They were family. I truly believe the strength I found there helped me push through, just like those moments in the outdoors with Mr. Flint. Both St. Jude and the outdoors have taught me growth, perseverance, and to trust the process—and for that, I’m deeply grateful.

ST. JUDE PATIENT
My name is Bailey Jessop and I am a former St. Jude patient and cancer survivor. Mr. Flint and I have met up in the summer once a year to go fishing together and raise money for the amazing organization. We have so much fun in doing so and raising money for childhood cancer so that the world may see more success stories like me as well as many others. My incredible experience with St. Jude Children’s research hospital has inspired me to raise money for this hospital as well as team up with the Northcutt Outdoors organization to fight to end childhood cancer. Northcutt Outdoors has provided me with just an incredible view of what this place means to the world and not only former patients like myself. Mr. Flint has continued to show me his passion and love for this cause.

ST. JUDE PATIENT
It has meant the absolute world to me to fish with Flint and the guys over the last few years to support St. Jude. I was a patient in 2016 battling acute myeloid leukemia and now am almost 10 years in remission. It has been so rewarding spending time on the lake with other survivors and supporters that have become like family. My favorite moment was when we were heading back to the docks and it started to rain. We ended the day looking out at a rainbow over the lake right at sunset. I knew it had to be a sign from the Lord that I was right where He wanted me to be. I can’t say thank you enough to Flint and every person that has donated to help other St. Jude families like mine. Can’t wait for next year!
